My Opinion – ⭐⭐⭐⭐★
While I was expecting Bangkok Breaking to simply be another emergency services series like Chicago PD/Chicago Fire or even Grey’s Anatomy I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this was a series that created its own identity and wasn’t afraid to tell a hard-hitting and compelling story that tackled some realistic themes.
The show was not afraid to show the realities and consequences of incidents like fires, car crashes, and other unfortunate events. But it was never the focus of the show, it was the result and consequence of someone’s actions – Much like real life. These incidents can occur anywhere and at any time, and this series did a great job of doing that.
This show also shows the impact that corruption and lawlessness can have on a family structure and its members. The idea that sin is hereditary and if one family member participates in corruption all need to pay the price is a scary but real topic.
All in all, great performances, engaging set pieces and memorable characters all elevate the show to a higher level. While the VFX may be wonky and put some off, I would definitely suggest that you push through, as you will be robbing yourself have a fantastic viewing experience if you dont.
